Ingredients
- 300 g all purpose flour
- Three quarter teaspoon bi carb soda
- Half teaspoon salt
- 225 g salted butter softened
- 145 g brown sugar
- 100 g granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Method
- In a mixer beat the butter and granulated sugar on high for one minute until light.
- Add vanilla egg and brown sugar then mix again until smooth.
- Add flour bi carb soda and salt then mix until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips gently.
- Roll into small golf sized balls and place on a lined tray.
- Bake at 180 c for about twelve minutes until the edges are golden.
- Let cool slightly then enjoy the soft chewy centre.

Tips
- For thicker cookies chill the dough for twenty minutes before baking.
- Add extra chocolate chips on top before baking for a bakery style look.
- Do not overmix the flour or the cookies will be tough.
Storage
Keeps well in an airtight container for three days. You can freeze the dough balls and bake from frozen adding two minutes to the bake time.
